A scientist in the study of astronomy who concentrates their research on a specific subject or field outside the preview of Earth is called an astronomer. In either observational or theoretical astronomy, they study celestial objects such as stars, planets, moons, comets, and galaxies. Astronomers are also sometimes called astrophysicists.
